We continue our month-long celebration of The Craft's Meow's first birthday by hosting a very special blog hop for a very special stamp set being released today!! Since Easter will follow pretty quickly on the heels of our March 20th release, I decided to release it now in honor of my mother's birthday, which is today. It's The Craft's Meow Birthday!

Yep, that's right! March marks the one year anniversary of the opening of The Craft's Meow!!! March 21st to be exact. And we've got LOTS of fun in store for you to help us celebrate! So let's get started!!!

First, I'm so proud and happy to announce that we have a brand new Stamp Designer joining our team! Please give a warm welcome to Karen Baker!!!

In Karen's words: I'm a graphic designer by trade, wife, mama to two energetic young boys, and always a crafter at heart. I like to expand my boundaries by experimenting and showcasing the capabilities of each stamp set I pick up. I'm quite fond of the clean and simple design style. I'm so very excited to have the opportunity here at The Craft's Meow to bring you stamp sets that are chic, charming and practical!

Design Team Call

It took a bit longer than expected, but we finally finished going through more than 100 applications for our design team and issued invitations to three ladies. I'm happy to say they have accepted and will join us for the March new release festivities! There are also several ladies who will be appearing here as guest designers over the next six months. :)

I want to thank everyone again, so very sincerely, for applying for a spot on the DT. I was, quite simply, overwhelmed with the love you've shown for The Craft's Meow. It means the world to me! Please know that not being picked this time around is no indication of the caliber of your work, which is stellar! There will be more design team calls! I hope to eventually give you all a spot on the team or as guest designer, so please stay tuned and don't lose heart.

This is all happening at a very unique time for TCM... our first birthday is March 21st! Can you believe it? I can't. ;) We will be celebrating all month long, with tons of contests, challenges and PRIZES galore, along with some very special announcements!!! We're kicking off the month with one of those special announcements on March 1st, followed by a blog hop on March 2nd!!! Our March previews and birthday celebration will start March 16, with our new release on the 20th. I hope you'll join us!

On another note, I want to let you all know that we received more than 100 applications for our open Design Team positions. Yowser!!! Let me tell you that I seriously wish I could have you all on our team! This is the hardest part of issuing a design team call... I don't want to disappoint anyone, and I appreciate how much time and effort you put into applying and then waiting to hear. Trust me, I've been on the other side countless times... some I got, others I didn't. All I can say is please don't take it personally if you aren't selected. It isn't about that at all, even though it might feel like it. Besides, I firmly believe... and have told myself this when I wasn't selected for a particular DT... that when one door closes, another opens. It's true. I know this from my own experience.

We are still going through all the applications and hope to start contacting applicants this weekend. I will definitely post here on the blog when we've done that so that you don't have to wonder. We will not only be picking DT members, but also guest designers. And remember... another call will go out around July'ish.

I've finally caught up to shipping out all the Grab Boxes that have been ordered so far. Yay! I hope you all like them! If anyone isn't satisfied, please do let me know.

There are still lots of boxes available and we need to sell them all before the drawing. As a reminder, for each Grab Box you purchase, your name goes into a hat to win $100 gift certificate to spend at The Craft's Meow!

The boxes are $19 apiece and the contents are well below retail price. The boxes contain products from My Mind's Eye, Echo Park, Pink Paislee, Graphic 45, Crate Paper, Maya Road, Ranger/Tim Holtz, LaBlanche, and Bazzil, plus ribbon, flowers and buttons. A few even have additional surprises tucked inside. Note: not all boxes will have something from each of these companies/categories. If you purchase more than one box, I'll make sure you get boxes that are as different from each other as possible.

I've been having problems with the shipping calculator in the store for International orders. I've made some adjustments to the settings, which has helped, but is certainly not perfect. I don't know why, but the system over-estimates International shipping costs almost all of the time. But I do refund overpayment of shipping! It's quite possible that the actual shipping will be less, especially the closer you live to California, and I will refund overpayment of postage. Check it out!!! This is similar to a warehouse clearance sale! The Craft's Meow is no longer selling non-stamp products. Everything that remained after the end of last year has been distributed into Priority Mail boxes along with some additional goodies that never appeared in the store. The Grab Boxes vary in content... below are pictures of the contents of two different boxes just for an idea of what you might receive. The value of the contents is far below regular retail price.

Design Team Changes

Hello there! Many wonderful things are going on behind the scenes here at The Craft's Meow and time is flying! I'm popping in today to announce something not quite so wonderful. Boo hoo, we're saying goodbye to four of our design team members... Debbie Pamment, Alice Wertz, Lynn Miller and Viola Mahr. These ladies have done such beautiful work with TCM stamps and I feel like dropping to the ground, grabbing onto their ankles, and begging them not to go. But I can't be that selfish. Each has her own very good reason for stepping down. They will be missed, but I know they will always be friends of The Craft's Meow and of me personally, and for that I'm very grateful.

On a more upbeat note, I'm very happy to announce that I'm getting some much-needed help! Julie Ranae is now the Design Team Coordinator (thank you Julie!!!) and Amy Tsuruta is now Sketch Challenge Coordinator (thank you Amy!!!). Lindsay Amrhein continues to help me with Social Media, for which I'm very grateful.

I hope you'll stay tuned, especially over the next few days, as we have THREE exciting things coming up that you won't want to miss! :)

Introducing Lovely Labels 18 and Sent With Love!

Hey everyone!!! Happy December!!! Are you having fun so far??? :) Me, I've barely done a thing to get ready for Christmas. Oh well. Didn't they used to wait until Christmas Eve (or just before) to decorate the tree??? I'm just bringing back the old ways! LOL

We're very excited to announce that our special guest designer (aka Friend of The Craft's Meow) for the month of December is the one and only Jessica Diedrich!!! I met Jess on line through The Greeting Farm (which I adore) and had the privilege of being part of two of her challenge teams... Whimsical Wednesdays - The Diedrich Dare and Oh Alice! Tons of fun! And then I got to meet Jess in person at Winter CHA in 2010. Her friendliness is contagious... you can't help but have fun when she's around. For that reason alone, I love her to pieces!

In her own words: I have been a fan of all things paper crafting for about 7 years now and I think it gets more fun every day! Who knew that a little "at-home party" and a "harmless" catalog purchase would turn into something I needed a home addition for years later?! Shhh! Don't tell my hubby ;) Actually, my "DH" is my biggest cheerleader and support system...even the enabler, believe it or not! While I have accomplished so many wonderful honors as a paper crafter, my four greatest achievements are my children, ages 11, 9, 9 and 5. They are the inspiration behind EVERYTHING I do and the reason I enjoy creating precious paper crafted memories for my family. I'm also really excited about the wonderful and INSPIRING women I have met through sharing this craft and love that we can all support each other and learn from one another! When I am NOT "stuck like glue" to my craft supplies or taking photographs, I truly enjoy music and singing, water activities and a good book or two. Oh, and there is usually coffee not very far away from wherever I am! Give me a beach and a great Mexican or Thai dish in addition to that and I'm in paradise! I am so excited about guest designing for The Craft's Meow this month can't wait to get started!

Introducing Happy Hoo-lidays and The Merry Best!

Yowser, do we have a lot in store for you for our November release!!! It's Christmas at The Craft's Meow (plus a little something extra ;) and we have SEVEN stamp sets that are sure to delight and inspire you!!! Today we're introducing two of the new sets... one by Jenny Suchin Designs (hoot hoot!!!) called Happy Hoo-lidays, and the other by Kaitlyn Ord called The Merry Best!!!

But before we get to the previews, I want to introduce to you our VERY special guest designer this month, the one and only Sparkle Smith!!!

Sparkle and I initially met through blogland, got to know each other better while I was on her inaugural design team (lucky me!), and later met in person at CHA. We hit it off immediately, discovering our mutual love for make-and-takes (*grin*). She has the most wonderful stamp line of her own... Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps. I don't mind mentioning it because I prefer to think of us as friends than competitors. There's room enough for all of us!

In her own words: Yes...Sparkle is my real name. I'm half Hmong and half Chinese. My ethnic names translate to shiny light, hence why my American name is Sparkle. I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and graduated from Oregon State University. Soon after, I moved to Denver, Colorado. In 2008, I moved back to the Pacific Northwest and am now happily living in Maple Valley, Washington with my wonderful husband, Brent.

I love to craft, make cards, scrapbook, make notebooks and journals, paint, rubber stamping, and just about anything else along those lines. I have been crafting for the last 13 years and started as a scrapbooker, though over the years I've turned into an avid cardmaker.

You may know her as the Design Team member orcoordinator for many wonderful companies, from bakers twine, die cuts, rubberstamps and more. What many people don’tknow about Julie Ranae is that she has had some pretty major dental surgeriesin her lifetime due to medication she had to take as a child. It was in her plans to think about having allof her teeth replaced at some point inthe next 5 years, a decision that was pretty easy to plan out.

But then it happened…she chippedher front teeth on a weekend a month ago. The dentist told her there was no wayto save them and that it was his recommendation that she give in and havethem all her teeth removed soon, but for that day, they needed to get her frontteeth done so her gums could begin to heal. He said he would 'work outpayments with her to have ALLthis work done...but when she called to make her appt for the firststep of impressions, they told her the amount of money that was needed and thatthe 'payments' applied only to the two teeth that were extractedthat day. Her husband Paul was with her and that, too, was his understanding. So this is how she has found herself in this situation…needing at least$4000 to get started and another $3000 to finish the process…a total of $7000.

Nicole Rixon, owner of Sweet StampShop put together this benefit after finding out about this situation andbefore Julie Ranae knew it, it took flight!Because she is an event organizer bytrade, she has taken on the job of organizing all of the blogs in this hop asher way of ‘working overtime’ for what she needs, the same as if she were ableto work overtime at an outside job to pay for the work to be done.It is the goal of all of thesegenerous friends and sponsors to help make this situation more do-able forour friend so that she can share a brand new smile with all of us soon.If there is anything you can do tohelp with a financial donation, there is a donation button ready for you toclick.
